6 Days Cairo and the White Desert Trip During Christmas

Enjoy a delicious buffet breakfast at your hotel before meeting your English-speaking tour guide who will accompany you to the Giza Plateau. Here, you will have the opportunity to explore the Great Giza Pyramid of King Cheops, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, as well as the Pyramids of Chephren and the smallest royal pyramid in the Necropolis, built by King Mycerinus. You will also see and learn about the Great Sphinx, a massive statue with the head of a human and the body of a lion, as well as the Valley Temple of King Chephren, which was built in front of the gigantic statue and served as a place for the mummification process.

After you visit the Giza Plateau, you will enjoy a delicious lunch at a high-quality restaurant in Cairo before heading to Islamic Cairo to experience the vibrant market and traditional tea-mint at El Fishawy or Layaly Al-Hussein, Cairo's oldest cafes in Khan El Khalili. Return to your hotel for some rest before proceeding to the next activity.

Next, head to Coptic Cairo to explore the old Roman fortress of Babylon, built by Emperor Trajan in the 1st century, and the Hanging Church, which was built mysteriously above the towers of the old fortress. Walk through the streets of Old Cairo with your private tour guide to see the church of St. Sergius and the crypt where the Holy Family stayed for three months, as well as the Ben Ezra Synagogue, one of the oldest Jewish synagogues in Cairo.

Return to your hotel for an overnight in Cairo.

Upon arrival, you will visit the Valley of Golden Mummies in Bahariya, which led to the discovery of thousands of mummies in gold, dating back to the Roman era in Egypt. Next, you will visit the Tombs of the Nobles, who ruled the oasis during the Pharaonic period. You will also see the temple of Alexander the Great, which was discovered by Egyptian archaeologists, and the temple of Ein El Meffetla.

Enjoy a pleasant lunch at the oasis before checking in to your hotel and spending the afternoon at leisure. You can relax and enjoy the minerals of the groundwater by taking a dip in the hot spring of the hotel.

Before sunset, you will have the opportunity to walk through the oasis and meet with the local people to learn more about their traditions and customs. Then, you will climb the Black Mountain to see the ruins of the English house on top of the mountain and get a panoramic view of the entire oasis and its clear blue sky during sunset. This experience is truly worth the climb!

Spend the night in Bahariya Oasis.

Enjoy a pleasant breakfast at your hotel before embarking on a full day of adventure in the desert. First, you will visit the large Salt Lake in Bahariya and the golden dunes, then take an excursion to see the palm trees and the local fruit gardens. After a wonderful lunch, head to the desert to explore the Black Desert, an interesting area of volcanic compositions and black-colored mountains with a large number of small black stones. Continue to the Quartz Crystal Mountain and the Valley of Agabat after a short stop at the Valley of El Haize.

Arrive at the White Desert, which is a large region of formations of chalk that were carved by the annual sandstorms hitting the country in the spring season. The shapes resulting from these formations are weirdly interesting, as some of them look like they were carved on purpose.

You will spend the night camping in the White Desert with a unique chance to see the rare fox of the eastern desert and enjoy an amazing sunset view while your local Bedouin guides are cooking your fresh dinner.
